COWES WEEK

Cowes week takes place on 2nd to 9th August 2008. Organised by the combined Cowes yacht clubs, this is the highlight of the yachting year, preceeded by the Commodores Cup and ending with the Fastnet race. The Fireworks on Friday 8th are a spectacular finale looked forward to by all. Hurst Point are offering three packages:

Corporate Private CharterThis is a two day package with the opportunity to take part in a cruiser class race of duration 2 1/2 hours approximately. Meet at Lymington in the New Forest National Park on day one for an afternoon sail to Cowes with night ashore followed by overnight on board. The race takes place on day 2. Price for this event is £1950 plus VAT.

Racing Berth Schedule is same as above but individuals can purchase a berth for £245 per person. The price includes wet weather gear hire, all race and mooring fees and breakfast aboard.

Race Viewing Cruises Again a two day event featuring a cruise to Cowes to view racing at close quarters with overnight stop in the quaint Island port of Yarmouth. Details are as follows:

Saturday/Sunday 2nd/3rd August 2008
On Saturday, start at 13.00 at Lymington, sail to Cowes and then to Yarmouth to berth overnight. On Sunday sail back to Lymington to finish at 13.00.

Sunday/Monday 3rd/4th August
On Sunday, start at 13.00 at Lymington, sail to Cowes and then to Yarmouth to berth overnight. On Monday sail back to Lymington to finish at 13.00

Monday/Tuesday 4th/5th August
On Monday, start at 13.00 at Lymington, sail to Cowes and then to Yarmouth to berth overnight. On Monday sail back to Lymington to finish at 13.00

Trip description:
This trip is suitable for novices and is an opportunity to sample the 'Cowes Week' experience, when hundreds of yachts descend on Cowes for the famous 'Cowes Week' regatta. We will not be taking part in the racing, but we will sail in The Solent to view the racing action close-up. In total there will be 4 guests on-board, plus the skipper.
Itinerary: The day will start in Lymington at 13.00 with a safety briefing before setting sail. We expect to arrive at Cowes around 14.30, when the Cowes Week racing will have started. Here we will sail amongst the various race classes to see the racing close-up. Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided on-board while we are sailing. In the early evening we will sail to Yarmouth to berth for the night. Here you can go ashore to have dinner in one of the pubs or restaurants in Yarmouth. Sleep on-board overnight, then breakfast in the morning, and sail again into the Solent to watch the racing, before sailing back to Lymington to finish at 13.00.
Price: £150 per person. Included in price: skipper, lifejackets, tea/coffee, snacks, breakfast, berthing fees, fuel. Not included in price: dinner ashore.
